BISHOP BERNARD N. BRAGG

Bernard N. Bragg is Senior Pastor of New Life Restoration Temple, in Boston, Massachusetts. He began his pastorate in 1991. He is a graduate of Coppin State College in Baltimore, Maryland where he received both his Bachelor of Science and Master’s Degree in Education. He was united in holy matrimony to the former Beverly A. Williams on June 30, 1984. Before his decision for early retirement in October 2000, he worked in the Baltimore City Public School System as a teacher, then, department head and finally, as an administrator.

His spiritual metamorphosis began on December 23, 1973, at which time he began his years of spiritual training and growth. This was accomplished under the guidance of his pastor, spiritual father and mentor– Apostle Robert Evans, Jr., Establishmentarian of the Beth-El Churches of Christ. Bishop Bragg was ordained in ministry on October 18, 1986. He served as the General Secretary and a member of the Executive Board for the Beth-El Churches. In 1999, he was consecrated and ordained to the office of Bishop during the 11th Holy Convocation of the Beth-El Churches and assigned as an Episcopal Diocesan. In 2001, following the passing of the Establishmentarian and First Apostle, Bishop Bragg was elected the new Presiding Prelate of the Beth-El Churches of Christ.

In addition to his duties in the Beth-El Churches, he has served on the board of directors of the Umoja House – a home for troubled youth. Presently, he serves on the board of directors for Healing Our Land Ministries – a ministry designed to facilitate the needs of HIV and AIDS victims and their families. He serves as spiritual covering for On Broken Pieces – a ministry birthed to touch the lives of hurting women. In addition, he serves as the Apostolic Constituent for Women Pastors Alliance (WPA) in West Palm Beach, Florida – a ministry designed to forward women pastors in the 21 st Century. He also, serves as the Apostolic Constituent for Convening of the Evangelist – a unique gathering strengthening the relevance of five-fold ministry, with emphasis on the Evangelist.

Bishop Bragg has been featured in Who’s Who Among American Pastors. He is the recipient of two Honorary Doctorate Degrees. He is also the CEO of the New Life Community Development Corporation and the Bernard N. Bragg Ministries.

Bishop Bragg is an anointed vessel of God, whose mission is to edify, educate, evangelize and economically empower the community of believers through kingdom principles. He is an honorable man, dedicated to leading God’s people, God’s way. He is motivated by seeing the people of God grow, prosper, and dwell in the spirit of unity.


On the fifteenth day of March 2019, His Eminence Bernard Nathaniel Bragg was Promoted to Glory while in Cleveland, Ohio.
